Grace & Wyatt At The Temple

We were able to go with Grace and Wyatt tonight to the temple as they received their endowment. What is an endowment? It ia a ceremony in our faith where one makes covenants -promises- to obey laws of God. In return for keeping these covenants, the Lord blesses you with "power from on high." Your endowment is the gift of power. Not some superpower. Humble, quiet power to fulfill your duties and purposes.

I was Grace's escort. That means I was able to be by her side and walk her through the ceremony and explain anything she had questions about. As she was preparing for the endowment, I was sitting in an onstruction room, waiting for her. There was a beautiful picture of Jesus praying. It was a picture I was not familiar with. I had never seen it before. It was beautiful and brought many questions and feelings to my mind and heart. For me, it seemed as Jesus was asking me where I havebeen. I have been distant. A lot of distractions lately. I found myself not being able to look at Him. Then peace filled my heart and mind. "This is a new beginning," He seemed to speak to me. It made me think of Grace an Wyatt. They have made changes and worked hard to be there. Then I thought of me. I had made an effort to be there. I made a new commitment, a fresh start. How grateful I am for fresh starts. And, it's all because of Him. It was a great evening we were able to spend with Grace, Wyatt, his parents, Dustin's mom, Lori, Ryaand Grace's friendns, Ally and Levi.

Chopped Hair!!!

I chopped it!! My family doesn't like that it's short. It's so weird, because I've had my hair short for most of their lives!!! It's no anything new. But, it's been a while. Short hair definitely does NOT curl like long hair. I just needed a change.

Becca is 15!!!

She's always been a little ball of energy! When she wants to get in the bath with her sister, she'll get in with clothes, diaper and all! She's been on the move since she was able to roll. She's not stopped yet. There is no one with more determination, kindness, and beauty in her soul. Happy Birthday, Becca Boo! I can't believe you're 15!!!

Labor Day Weekend: Camping Trip

We spent the weekend with Shandi and her family, and Wendy and her family. We rented a trailer and stayed at Palisades State Park. There ended up not being a lot of water, but enough that the kids could kayak and swim.  We played lots of games and just had fun hanging out by the fire. I only got 1 picture of the whole weekend!! A competition of who could stick the most marshmallows to their face.
