Kate quits, but has reconsidered.

"I quit!" We were having a hectic morning. Grace and Aaron have been sick, so I was getting everyone ready to go to the doctor. Well, Kate never likes to get ready for the day. She likes to run around naked. We were in a hurry , and I will say I was being a little bossy to get out of the door on time. She hates getting her hair done, so she was mad! When we were all done she turned to me and said ,"Mom, I quit!" I asked what she meant. She said, more determined for me to understand, "I quit this family!" I couldn't hide my little chuckle, but composed myself quickily. I said, "Kate if you quit this family where will you go?" "I wil go to my room!" she explained. "But if you quit, you have to leave," I told her. "Fine," she said. I pulled her close and I told her how much I will miss her. "I don't want you to quit our family." "I am!" she insisted. "Okay, lets call Dad and let him know...

The BIG talk! Okay, so we had "the talk" with our boys. Now, I share this so all you have not, can learn from our experience. Dustin and I had not sat down with eachother and discussed the things we should say to them(mistake #1). The boys were wathching TV with him, and the term sex offender was mentioned on the news. Ryan asked, "Dad what's sex?" I was not downstairs, I was bathing the girls upstairs. Dustin called to me. He let me know what they asked, and said we needed to talk to them. I said okay, and finished bathing the girls. I did not ask him to wait for me, I thought he would(mistake #2). I came down the stairs. All I heard was some very discriptive nouns about the male and female bodies(certain "parts"). He was explaining how they "become one" (this is not the way he said it). All I could think in my head was, "Fit together like a puzzle" over and over again. I had seen a Dr. Phil where he was talking about how to talk ...

The Jordan Circus!! We were able to take the kids to the circus this past week. It wasn't the great, big one. but they still had fun. The circus was pretty sad. The HIGH wire was only about 6 ft. off the ground, and there wasn't much OOOOing and AHHHHing, but the kids liked the clowns! I had never been to a circus, Dust told me that one wasn't a good one. He's been to The Barnum and Bailey and said it was amazing. For the prices they charged, you might have thought it was. $16.00 for an adult, $10.00 for a child 12 and under. We saved a little money because the boys brought home some passes from school, so we thought we would take them on some of the animal rides. To ride an elephant was $7.00 per child and the ponies were $6.00. We couldn't believe it! Aaron was pretty grumpy because we didn't get to go on the animals. You can tell in the pictures. Kate, she's always HAPPY! Aaron, pretty bored waiting for the show to start. He was in a bad mood. Ryan and...

Home SICK Home!

The Flu Blues!!! Well, our home needs to be sterilized after this past week. It all started with Becca waking up in the middle of the night on Monday throwing up. It was non-stop from then on. The poor thing couldn't hold anything down. She had an extremely high fever, but couldn't hold the medicine down. The only way she was comfortable was in a luke- warm bath to keep her fever down. I snapped a picture of her in the bath sleeping! I thought it was cute. She is better now, but her bug spread to her lungs and nose. So she has been sick for over a week. Dustin, Kate, and Grace were hit next. Kate had a double ear infection, Grace a cold and soar throat, and poor Dustin got a really bad soar throat. He was unable to speak all weekend. He got it back yesterday! Kate says, "Dad you can talk!" He told her, "Yeah, I found my voice in your pocket!" she laughed and said, "Yeah, I didn't want to hear you talk!" It was funny! I am now starting to get s...

Happy Birthday, Ryan !! The BIG 10!! Ryan had his 10th birthday party. I felt bad because we had to push it back a week. His cousin got baptized on his birthday, so he wasn't able to celebrate on the 5th. He had a good time. They all came over for pizza, X Box, cake and ice cream. It was the first year he invited girls to the party. I said to him, " I thought you didn't like girls?" He replied, "Mom, I like girls. They are nice. I just don't like the things they play, and these girls are not like regular girls. They don't do girly things." When he changed schools, these two girls were his first friends. The boys were a little cliquish ! How backwards is that!!But now he has many friends. He was excited to get a football, and a basketball. His b-ball glows in the dark. He got a candy vending machine, transformer, Nerf gun, Ben 10 action figure, $10, Star Wars game, Lego set, and a card game. He had a great time!

Merry Christmas!!! We had such a good Christmas! Santa found our house this year, I told him to make it a small Christmas, but it seemed to turn out to be a big one. We were a little scared when Santa thought he had not gotten Aaron all he planed, but thank goodness for Mrs. Claus she's always prepared! Christmas Eve we had our annual gift to Jesus. We had Grandpa Russ and Grandma Lori over. After, we had yummy treats! We watched the Joy to the World DVD put out by the church. Aaron decided to leave Santa some carrots. He thought it was a good idea for Santa to go on a diet. Before bed, the kids opened up their pajamas. Ryan was happy that he finally got the Long Shot Nerf gun! He also received a spy briefcase and Spider-man 3 walkie -talkies. Mom and Dad got him Speed stacks and a ticket to a Jazz game. Brother and sisters got him Legos and Lincoln Logs. He got a Air Hog from Grandma Lori and Grandpa Russ. And Galactic Heroes from Grandma Nelson. I know...
