Softball 2019

We signed Kate up with a new division this year. We enjoyed the chance she had with the other club, but felt this new one would give us the improvement we were hoping for. For the most part, it did. KAte saw mpre play time, more practices. She really did grow a lot. We had a few dsiagreements in the coaching, but part of being a team is working through those, so it was a win too.

It rained a lot! We had a lot of rained out games, but Kate really beacme a stron hitter this year!! In one game, her team was behind. Moral was low. Kate got up to hit. She hit a single, but had 2 RBIs. This allowed her team to take the lead. The next hitter knocked Kate in. They won the game!! It was great to watch. She also hit her very first triple this season.

We're excited for next year!!

Temple Trip

We had the opportunity to do some Family History work. Grandma Lori had names she needed baptism done for. So Kate and Becca were able to participate. We went to dinner at The Lion House and then performed Baptisms for the Dead at the Salt Lake Temple. What a neat experience with cousins!!

Ryan's 1st Grade Hero

I came across this book Ryan wrote in 1st grade. It was a rough day as a mom. This lifted my spirits. It's been hard watching my kids get bigger. As much as I enjoy seeing them grow, it's hard to know they are getting ready to make their own mark on the world. I often worry that I've not  taught them enough. Some days, you get a payday when you need it most!

Dustin Shout Out!

Long over due shout out to the man I married! Most know him as the crazy goofball. And, he is. It’s one reason I love him. What you may not know is he’s one of the hardest working people I know. When I changed careers, our family went through some growing pains. I went from being home everyday in the afternoon and evening, and Saturdays to a varying schedule that would change every week. It’s still hard to be gone at those times, but my husband has stepped up! He cleans, he cooks, he chauffeurs, he runs errands, does homework, will even decorate! I know he gets stressed and overwhelmed. But he has not ever complained about me trying to do something for my own growth. And I love him for it! We are lucky to have him!

Easter 2019

Easter. I love Easter. I love the sense of renewal it brings, but I most definitely love the time it allows me to refelct on my Savior, Jesus Christ.

I was raised in a home where we went to church every Sunday. We prayed. We read scripture. I was tols that I had a friend in Jesus. Him healing the blind man by putting mud on his eyes was always one of my favorites, maybe because I loved playing in mud. As I grew older, I began to understand for myself, through experience, that Jesus was not only my Friend, but my Brother too. That He loved me no matter what, that because of Him, I can be Forgiven of the things I do wrong, I can feel Peace when I am sad, I can have Light in the absolute darkness that can sometimes be overwhelming, I have someone always willing to Listen, and will always have someone to come Show the Way when my mind is too clouded with worry. Beacuse of Him, I can Live after death, with HIm, and those I love. Some will say it is because of the traditions of my parents that I believe what I beleive, and to an extent it is. But I have come to know for myself the Love of Jesus Christ. My parents were not there in my moments of prayer, asking for guidence, forgiveness, and comfort. My parents would freely give all those things if I asked, I know how it feels when they do that. But His guidence, His love, His mercy, His comfort is different than theirs. I am so grateful for Him. That He lived. That HE loved,. That He taught. That He died. That He rose from the dead and LIVES! He is my Best Friend. He is my Loyal Friend. HE is my Constant Friend. And I will live my life the best I can to prove I am all those things to Him.

Happy Easter!!

Tee-Ball for Britten

It was Britten's first year to play any sports. We were luck enough to have some of our friends coaching his team! His team name was the Rockies...I remeber that was Ryan's first coach pitcheing team.
I wasn't able to go to many games because they were ealrier, and I was working. I'm grateful Dustin was able to get him where he needed to go. The games I was able to attend, it was a lot of getting them to understand when to run, when to throw. Britten started getting the hang of it! I still don't think it's his sport, but we'll give it another try.

Zoo Field Trip

Kindergarten always gets to take a field trip to the zoo at the end of the year. I was able to tag along. We stayed close with Britten's friends, Max and Grant!

Rainy April

Spring in Utah is usually short lived. But this year, we have had nothing but rain...serious rain.

So, when the sun was out today. we totally enjoyed every last ray!!! So grateful for Britten to have little firends!
