Seminary Graduation for Grace

Typically, Seminary graduation comes before the school graduation, but this year has been anything but typical! We were finally cleared to do it. The kids were allowed to go to the chapel and have their meeting. Parents were able to watch from online. Then after, we picked her up, and drove to ur church building where our bishop was. He handed her, her certificate. Everyone was to stay intheir cars....It's all so crazy and weird!!

Me

Me. 43 year-old me. Wife, Mother, Real Estate Agent, Sunday School Teacher, Stake Young Women's Sports Director. But, still trying to figure out who I am. I'm pretty sure it's going to be  a life long journey.

The Chosen

Something that has really been a light in the chaos of this year has been a new television series called, The Chosen. It is a series that focuses on the life of Jesus Christ.

I don’t watch much tv. I don’t read books often. Sometimes, I wish I could just sit and spend hours doing those things. I’ve been this way since I was a little girl. The only book I would read was a children’s Bible book that was in our home. I would read it daily. It told of stories, or poems, of Jesus. Books and poems of Jesus are still my favorite. I’m very particular of the art I see of Jesus. For me, the ones of Him on the cross bring emotions I don’t wish to dwell on, even though I know it’s why He came. The ones where He’s soft and vibrant speak to me. If He’s smiling, the peace overwhelms me. I always smile back. I’ve been binge watching The Chosen. I was skeptical at first. Like I said, I’m super particular about my Jesus things. I know they have taken liberties with the story line and characters at times. But I like it! All of it! To see the characters as human makes me smile. So consider this a recommendation if you like Jesus things. I’d love your input as well.

Grace's Graduation day!!

The day's arrived! She did it! The 3rd one down!

Congratulations, to my Grace! She has worked hard and always been a good student.

We are so proud of you Grace and are excited for the next things to come in your life!

BEcause of Covid, we were not able to do the "normal" graduation walk at the Huntsman Center at The University of Utah. Masks were required, and everyone had a time slot to show up at. It was arranged by last name. So, she didn't get to see many friends at all. It was kind of sad, but I think she was so ready to be done with school that in the long run it didn't bother her. This year the kids have all been troopers! Change is hard. But they managed it!!! Congratulations, Class of 2020!

Grace's Graduation Pictures

IT's that time again in the Merritt household! Grace is graduating, so we went and took some photos. She's so different than my boys. The boys HATED pictures. I was lucky to get 30 minutes out of them. Grace was much more excited. We are so close to the end of the school year! I'm excited for what's coming for her.

Pergola Update

Dustin finished our Pergola. It has been a great gather space for our family. We love sitting in the hammocks and chairs. We have watched movies, held family discussions, and Come Follow Me out there. Seriously, our best investment yet!
