Kate quits, but has reconsidered.

"I quit!"
We were having a hectic morning. Grace and Aaron have been sick, so I was getting everyone ready to go to the doctor. Well, Kate never likes to get ready for the day. She likes to run around naked. We were in a hurry , and I will say I was being a little bossy to get out of the door on time. She hates getting her hair done, so she was mad! When we were all done she turned to me and said ,"Mom, I quit!" I asked what she meant. She said, more determined for me to understand, "I quit this family!" I couldn't hide my little chuckle, but composed myself quickily.
I said, "Kate if you quit this family where will you go?"
"I wil go to my room!" she explained.
"But if you quit, you have to leave," I told her.
"Fine," she said.
I pulled her close and I told her how much I will miss her. "I don't want you to quit our family."
"I am!" she insisted.
"Okay, lets call Dad and let him know you are leaving." I picked up the phone and started dialing. " I will miss you." I looked sad.
"Mom, okay, I will stay. I not quit the family." she said. Word World caught her attention, she sat down. I had Dustin on the phone. I told Kate she needed to talk to her father. "Dad, I will not quit the family. Bye." she said.
I explained to Dustin what happened, he laughed. We are all happy that you reconsidered, Kate. I would miss you if you "quit the family."

WARNING: Some Content May Not Be Suitible for Children!

The BIG talk!
Okay, so we had "the talk" with our boys. Now, I share this so all you have not, can learn from our experience. Dustin and I had not sat down with eachother and discussed the things we should say to them(mistake #1). The boys were wathching TV with him, and the term sex offender was mentioned on the news. Ryan asked, "Dad what's sex?"
I was not downstairs, I was bathing the girls upstairs. Dustin called to me. He let me know what they asked, and said we needed to talk to them. I said okay, and finished bathing the girls. I did not ask him to wait for me, I thought he would(mistake #2).
I came down the stairs. All I heard was some very discriptive nouns about the male and female bodies(certain "parts"). He was explaining how they "become one" (this is not the way he said it). All I could think in my head was, "Fit together like a puzzle" over and over again. I had seen a Dr. Phil where he was talking about how to talk to your kids, and explained how kids under twelve or thirteen didn't need to know about where parts go and what they do.
I rounded the corner in time to see Ryan's eyes get big and his head thrown back in digust. Aaron said, "You mean the ____ goes in the _____? The man is inside...?"
I blurted out," You fit together like a puzzle. Heavenly Father made us to fit like a puzzle!" I was mortified! It has to be at the bottom of The Best Sex Talk With Your Kids List. Just above the parents who still explain it by the analogy of the birds and the bees( I still don't understand how that comes into play). So, they do know how it all works now. Ryan has informed me that he thinks that is the grossest thing ,and he is never doing that. I simply told him that there will come a day he will change his mind, when he's married and wants children.
So, what have we learned?
1. Discuss with your husband what you want to talk about. Maybe, even practice what you will say with eachother. I was going to say practice together, but that can be taken out of context!!
2. Let your husband know that you would like to be present for the whole discussion.
Wish you all the best of luck, as you too will have to do this!

The Jordan Circus!!
We were able to take the kids to the circus this past week. It wasn't the great, big one. but they still had fun. The circus was pretty sad. The HIGH wire was only about 6 ft. off the ground, and there wasn't much OOOOing and AHHHHing, but the kids liked the clowns! I had never been to a circus, Dust told me that one wasn't a good one. He's been to The Barnum and Bailey and said it was amazing. For the prices they charged, you might have thought it was. $16.00 for an adult, $10.00 for a child 12 and under. We saved a little money because the boys brought home some passes from school, so we thought we would take them on some of the animal rides. To ride an elephant was $7.00 per child and the ponies were $6.00. We couldn't believe it! Aaron was pretty grumpy because we didn't get to go on the animals. You can tell in the pictures.

Kate, she's always HAPPY!

Aaron, pretty bored waiting for the show to start. He was in a bad mood.

Ryan and Bec, they are best buds.

GRACE(she's becoming like her father when it comes to pictures)

Ryan thought it was funny to give us bunny ears. I think I will never get a serious photo of Dustin and I.

The whole clan. We were pretty happy oncethe show started. All but Aaron.
He's pretty MAD!!
