Vacation Day #2

Okay, I figure I better hurry and write our trip down, or I'm going to forget everything! I have been really busy! Life has taken over!

The second day was our first day at Disneyland. The kids were so excited! They woke up early and were up and ready without having to be asked twice (a miracle, I tell ya). We were able to ride a shuttle fro our hotel, so that was nice. When we finally saw the park from the road the kids couldn't hold back anymore. I think Kate even let out this LOUD squeal of excitement.

The first part of the park we went to was Tomorrow land, in fact we spent most of the day there. The boys wanted to go on the Star Wars Tours ride. We went to to get on and to our surprise Becca was not big enough to ride the ride. She had to be 40" tall, she was s39". She and Dustin went on another one that was close while the rest of us waited in line.

We then went to get on another ride and saw that Bec couldn't ride that one either! We thought, "we didn't come all this way, spend all this money to do things separately. What are we going to do?" (This is where I explain why we only got as far as Tomorrow land.)

Dustin had an idea that if we stick something in her shoes, she would be taller. Well, we had water bottles and food, that's about all. So, we took the caps off the bottles and stuck them in her shoes. She was still coming up short. We had to do something else. We noticed her shoe didn't have much of a sole, so we needed to to buy new shoes. We got back on the shuttle and got in our car to find the closest shoe store. Found some great soled shoes, put the lid in with a sock over them for comfort, and headed back to the theme park. We measured her and she was just the right size! (Keep in mind this took a lot less time to write than the actual events. Seriously we lost about 2 hrs out of the day. Yes we did have to answer questions wondering if this was cheating. Oh the guilt!).

When we got back we noticed the park was A LOT busier, but oh well, now we could all have fun together! We hurried as fast as possible to make up time. We did pretty good. We stayed till it closed and were able to do a lot of rides in the evening.

By night time we made it into Fantasy land and Toon Town. Toon Town was one of the kids favorite. They had a lot of cute rides. I have tons of pics, but not enough time to put them in a collage, so I shrunk them in size to fit more.

Us with Buzz Lightyear! Darn flash! In front of Cinderella's Castle

Mr Toad's Wild Ride. Finding Nemo Ride, one of our Faves!

Grace & Aaron on the Tea cups. (Theymade me sick!) Ryan on It's a Small World, he
thought it was neat to have dancing girls behind him!

Becca knocking on the White Rabbit's door. She was REALLY waiting for him to answer!
Me enjoying It's a Small World, it was my favorite!

In Toon Town. Those dumbbells were heavy!

The Carousal, our last ride! The kids at the front gate! You can't tell, but all the
flowers make Mickey! (Yes, I know this is out of order!)

We went back to the hotel and got a quick bite from Taco Bell! We got the kids bathed and ready to do it all over the next day!!!

Day #1 of Vacation: The Beach

We had the opportunity to take our kids to Disneyland this past week. It was a lot of fun, but a lot of WORK! I don't know how people do this trip every year. We left the 8th and stayed over night in Las Vegas. We woke up and then went on to Anaheim.
When we got there we checked into the hotel and immediately went to the beach. I have never seen an ocean before, so I was excited. It was pretty amazing! I couldn't get over how loud it was!
The kids had never seen an ocean either. The boys were really excited, they were the first ones in. They loved being in the middle of the waves. Before long they had their shirts off and were ready to swim.

The girls were a little hesitant. Not sure if they wanted to go into the cold, LOUD water. They would run out as the water receded, but when the waves came in they would run back to the beach. Unfortunately a big wave came in and knocked Becca and Kate flat. They were so upset. Becca would not go back, she was scarred for life. Just looking at the pictures of us on the beach she said, "I don't like the water."

After the wave hit:

The setting sun was beautiful.

Seeing the ocean made me realize how huge this world is. It reminded me of all the beauty Our Heavenly Father has blessed us with. We just need to stop and appreciate it. I will definitely be planning a trip to return to the ocean. Which one? Not sure, maybe Dust should take me on a cruise or something.

Choose You This Day Whom Ye Will Serve...

but as for Kate, she will serve Grace.
Kate was called to the kitchen because I needed to have her take care of a toy she had left in the kitchen. Grace, knowing that she was on her way there, called to her and asked, "Kate will you bring me back a drink of water?"
"Sure," Kate replied.
Aaron heard this and in his very parent- like voice said," Grace, Kate is not your servant." He was so disgusted by the request he yelled to me, "Mom, Grace is making Kate do things."
Kate was half way down the stairs. Before I could say anything, she put everyone in their place. "I don't mind being Grace's servant. It's okay."
I'm glad she finds joy in serving others!
