Home SICK Home!

The Flu Blues!!!

Well, our home needs to be sterilized after this past week. It all started with Becca waking up in the middle of the night on Monday throwing up. It was non-stop from then on. The poor thing couldn't hold anything down. She had an extremely high fever, but couldn't hold the medicine down. The only way she was comfortable was in a luke-warm bath to keep her fever down. I snapped a picture of her in the bath sleeping! I thought it was cute. She is better now, but her bug spread to her lungs and nose. So she has been sick for over a week.

Dustin, Kate, and Grace were hit next. Kate had a double ear infection, Grace a cold and soar throat, and poor Dustin got a really bad soar throat. He was unable to speak all weekend. He got it back yesterday! Kate says, "Dad you can talk!" He told her, "Yeah, I found my voice in your pocket!" she laughed and said, "Yeah, I didn't want to hear you talk!" It was funny! I am now starting to get sick. I had been praying to not loose my voice all week because I had to sing at church. Well, he answered that prayer, but I was hoping I just wouldn't get sick at all. Oh, well.

We are saddened by the loss of our sweet prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley. We are happy that he is able to be with his wife. I know it was a happy reunion. His family is in our prayers, as well as the leaders of the church. We know that the Lord's work will continue.

Happy Birthday, Ryan!!
The BIG 10!!

Ryan had his 10th birthday party. I felt bad because we had to push it back a week. His cousin got baptized on his birthday, so he wasn't able to celebrate on the 5th. He had a good time. They all came over for pizza, X Box, cake and ice cream. It was the first year he invited girls to the party. I said to him, " I thought you didn't like girls?" He replied, "Mom, I like girls. They are nice. I just don't like the things they play, and these girls are not like regular girls. They don't do girly things." When he changed schools, these two girls were his first friends. The boys were a little cliquish! How backwards is that!!But now he has many friends.

He was excited to get a football, and a basketball. His b-ball glows in the dark. He got a candy vending machine, transformer, Nerf gun, Ben 10 action figure, $10, Star Wars game, Lego set, and a card game. He had a great time!

Christmas 2007

Merry Christmas!!!

We had such a good Christmas! Santa found our house this year, I told him to make it a small Christmas, but it seemed to turn out to be a big one. We were a little scared when Santa thought he had not gotten Aaron all he planed, but thank goodness for Mrs. Claus she's always prepared! Christmas Eve we had our annual gift to Jesus. We had Grandpa Russ and Grandma Lori over. After, we had yummy treats! We watched the Joy to the World DVD put out by the church. Aaron decided to leave Santa some carrots. He thought it was a good idea for Santa to go on a diet. Before bed, the kids opened up their pajamas.

Ryan was happy that he finally got the Long Shot Nerf gun! He also received a spy briefcase and Spider-man 3 walkie-talkies. Mom and Dad got him Speed stacks and a ticket to a Jazz game. Brother and sisters got him Legos and Lincoln Logs. He got a Air Hog from Grandma Lori and Grandpa Russ. And Galactic Heroes from Grandma Nelson. I know he got more, but I can't recall.

Aaron wanted a skateboard! He got it! He also got a jazz ticket. Dustin got one as well.

They can all go together! He wanted the game Apples to Apples too. Santa forgot, but not Mrs. Clause! He also got the Nerf Big Bad Bow! All morning long him and his brother were having a battle. His brothers and sisters gave him the Storm Trooper Blaster. He was very excited. As you can see, he likes guns and weapons (like father, like son)! He also got an Air Hog and Galactic Heroes. I know there's more, that's what I get for writing this blog 2 weeks later.

Grace had a Barbie and Polly Pocket Christmas. Santa brought her a Snow White Barbie and Baker Barbie. He thought she would like a cash register too. That girl likes to shop! She was really excited to get the big Polly Pocket lady where you can do her nails and hair. Her brothers and sisters gave her more Career Barbie and a Ken doll! This was needed. She and her friends would pretend another barbie doll was the husband. It really bothered Mom, I know they had no clue about two girls kissing! Grandma and Grandpa gave her a book and Princess Polly pockets. They completed her collection with Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. Mom and Dad got her something too! I just don't remember!

Kate had a Dora Christmas, and was she excited! Everytime she opened something she just screamed, "Dora, Dora!" She was happy to get her Dora skates, helmet, and dress up from Santa. Brothers and sisters got her Polly Pocket ponies. Mom and Dad got her LPS toys. She loves those. Grandma got her a Dora Mermaid that "turns into a human" she says!

Becca got a new kitchen, kitchen toys, and chef clothes! Mom and Dad got her a new baby doll. Brothers and Sisters got her a Little People store. Grandma and Grandpa got her a bathtub for her baby doll and a new Care Bear.

Alissa's family had us for Christmas this year. they were excited to open it. The girls loved their new slippers and the boys liked their Spider-man t-shirts. She gave us a new game and a FHE kit. We are excited to try both! My mom gave us a fun game and a neat book.

Dustin scored big! Our old TV broke, so he got himself a new 52" plasma screen and surround sound system. He got some new tools and clothes too.

I got a new vacuum! Yea!! The kids gave me one of my favorite movies, The Forgotten Carols by Micheal McLean. I also got an under cabinet CD/radio player! I was excited. I got a couple of new scrap books as well.

All in all we had a good Christmas. We were excited for the presents, but we do know the true reason we celebrate. Jesus is the Reason for the Season! We are grateful for His birth, His life, and His Resurrection. We hope you all enjoyed this year's holiday season!!

Temple Circle (Square) 2007

Beautiful Lights!!
We went to Temple Circle, as Kate calls it. Dustin was off for 10 days during the holidays, and we made the most of it. It was VERY COLD!! We were able to walk around quite nicely. We went on the 23rd, so it was not crowded at all. After seeing all the lights, and watching the nativity, we went to Dustin's office across the street and had hot chocolate. The kids had blast! The parents did too!
