I have so much I need to catch up on, but this will be first.




We finally bit the bullet and did it! I'm full of crazy mixed emotions, tired, and overwhelmed, but plugging along.

I have wanted this for over three years and now that the moment is here, I'm being all crazy! Change has always been exciting to me, but the thought of changing my kids' lives is throwing me for a loop. Ryan was in tears when we told the kids and when we were driving out to see our lot where our new home will be built. I felt like an awful mom that day. 

We are planning to move to Stansbury Park. Some people call it farm country. I like to call it the suburbs of the suburbs. I'm excited to be where it's quiet and where the pace of life is a little slower. Not to mention I get to build the house exactly the way I want. It will have an entry, third car garage, fireplace, and a master bath!!! I can't wait!!!

We are doing the double sink in the master bath and finishing two bedrooms and a bath in the basement. In the future we will finish the third bedroom in the basement along with the rec room.

We will pick our own colors and I'm hoping for peaks on the side instead of gables, Gotta stay in our budget!



Now we just got to get this place SOLD!!!

Love those Perry Homes!! Is that the Hamilton model? Poor kids with change, and mom, and even dad- it's hard! But, I still say I'm not too sad for you, it's been a long time coming and it's not a quick decision you've made, you've had so much time to think and pray to know exactly where you want to go- that I have no doubt it will be right where your family should be!Yay! I can't wait to see and visit!

Thank you BrieAnn! Alissa, that is the Hamilton! I loved it in the nineties and still love it! I'm going to ask Jeff if they have a Craftsman elevation, if not no biggie! I think Ryan has gotten better since we told him. He is no longer sad when we mention it. I know he will miss all his friends, but we reminded him he's 16 next year! HE can drive in to town.

Now that our computer is up and running, I'll fill you in on our latest happenings. Not in one post of course. I'll have lots to say for a while. Our biggest news is that Dustin has officially started the police academy . We are adjusting. The kids are taking it the worst, but I'm not fairing very well either. He is gone all day Mon- Thurs., and all day Sat. The kids are sad that he is gone so much and constantly ask where he is. It has been something I have continually worked on all my life. When I was young and lived Missouri, I was the only member of my Faith. My family was the only members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the whole school. There were a couple of friends who were members of the RLDS (now known as The Community of Christ). I felt a connection with them because at least our religions stemmed from the same founding. Yet, it still was different. I knew this after having conversations with them. And, even though I was the only member of my Faith, I still had great friends who practiced other religions, or none at all. A New Chapter In Motherhood

Every now and then I get all sentimental while looking at my kids. Today was one of those days. What sparked it? My 16 year-old walking into the door of his new place of employment! I can't believe one of my kids is old enough to work. Well, old enough to work and get paid by someone other than me.  I'll tell you it was a little like sending him off to his first day of school. I was worried  he'd be nervous. I was worried his boss might be mean. I was worried about what type of people he would be working with. Would they be nice to him? It all seems so silly. He's sixteen, not six! But I'm a mom. Mom's are like that sometimes. I asked Ryan how it was when I picked him up- he's working to save money to drive. He really likes it. He worked the grill and firer. He was burned a couple of times. He said he was slow at first, but by the end of the night had found his groove. I'm glad he enjoys working. I'm glad he's building a good work ethic....
