To-do Lists

I was cleaning my little girls' room the other morning. Becca was in there. She was writing in her new journal that she had bought herself- she, and I, was pretty proud of the purchase. She asked me if I would like to see what was inside. I said, "Of course!" She pulled the key from her pillow case, the perfect hiding spot!   She opened to the first page. She had made a list. A to-do list. It read:   Becca's to do list   1. watch baby 2. help Kate 3. draw cakes   I got a chuckle out of her cute, little list. I knew she had done everything on it. She always watches the baby and helps Kate. The next three pages were drawings of her beautiful cakes. I was a little jealous of her list. How nice would it be for my list to resemble hers?   I think sometimes as adults we complicate our lives to the extreme. We fill our time with things that need to be done, but often find things that aren't quite so pressing are eating up the remainde...

Counting My Blessings- Faith

Image
“Faith is not so much something we believe, Faith is something we live.” - Joseph B Wirthlin 🌱🌿🌳 I’m not quiet about my Faith. It is truly a part of who I am. It always has been. It has been something I have continually worked on all my life. When I was young and lived Missouri, I was the only member of my Faith. My family was the only members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the whole school. There were a couple of friends who were members of the RLDS (now known as The Community of Christ). I felt a connection with them because at least our religions stemmed from the same founding. Yet, it still was different. I knew this after having conversations with them. And, even though I was the only member of my Faith, I still had great friends who practiced other religions, or none at all. I remember having sleepovers at friends’ homes on Saturday nights, and then waking up on Sunday and going to church with them. I’m so grateful my parents were so open and willi...

Behold the Wounds

Image
One of my favorite cds to listen to is, "Day of Rest" by Jericho Road. I highly recommend it. All the songs on it are about the Savior and the peace we will find when we allow Him to be a part of our lives. I just wanted to share this song. It touched my heart today.     Behold the Wounds   David Naylor & John V Pearson     Behold the wounds in Jesus' hands, the marks upon His side. Then ponder who He meant to save when on the cross He died.   We cannot see the love of God which saves us from the fall, yet know that Christ from wood and nails built mansions for us all.   Behold the outstretched hands of Christ, our Lord, who came to save, whose love and grace redeem our souls and lift us from the grave.   Though bruised and battered as we stray His loving hands caress, He washes and anoints with oil then in His arms we rest.   Behold the wounds in Jesus' hands. Look to your Lord a...
