The Need for Change

I have never been one to repeat the same events over and over again. When life gets mundane, it is typical for me to find something to liven it up a bit. I think it stems from moving around quite a bit as a child.

I was born in Arizona. When I was 18 mo old, we moved to Missouri. We lived there until I was 3. At the age of 7 1/2 we moved back to Missouri, only it was different part this time. We moved to Las Vegas when I was 12 1/2. I stayed until graduation and I moved here to Utah.

Change has always been a part of my life. I hate it when things get boring. I feel like sticking something in my eye to liven things up a bit! I am feeling that way now!

Since I can't move and I'm sure my family wouldn't appreciate me inflicting injury upon my self, I have settled for this:

What do you think? I really like the color, but maybe because it looks really good on her. What would I look like as a red head? I am scared because I love the color of my hair and I don't want to screw it up. Dustin wants me to have it done professionally, but I'm too cheap. Any thoughts before I do this tomorrow?

That is a cute color, I also think you should get it done professionally. Brittany (boren) does it professionally, you should give her a call.

Professional hair color is VERY worth the money!!! If you decide to do it, you'd probably be happiest w/it if you forked out the cash for it. I understand the money part--that's why I've decided to keep my natural color. Too much upkeep and expense that I'm not willing to deal w/right now. If you do it, post a picture! I really like that color, too, but I'm not very good at looking at a picture of anything and being able to tell how it would look on me (or someone else), so I'm not very helpful about whether or not you should do it that color (another thing a professional should be good at helping you decide).

I say go professional for the first time- if you like it then start doing it on your own. I like the color- but am the same way you are- I like it ont he model, but I don't look like the model! I colored mine all the time when we lived in Vegas- Darrell's mom did it for free-perks of a hair dresser MIL! I finally quit because the upkeep and the money- but it's so fun to have something new!

I've never colored my hair, and aside from a few highlights a few years ago (done at a salon), I decided hair color was far too much maintenance for me. I think red would be cute on you, but because of red's especially temperamental nature, I would have it done. The only reason I ever cringe about spending money (I'm not at all a big spender anyway) is when I think Jake won't think it was worth it...but if Dustin is on board, then I wouldn't worry about the professional cost.

Nope. Do something else like wear curlers one night, at least that will do something different that can wash out. Your haircolor is great and if you dye it, this will wash you out, you also will have to endure growing your hair back out. I know how being bored and needing a change is. I saw a color on the shelf in the store that I thought would look so good on me, but then I thought about the upkeep and how it would start to fade or look brassy after a while and then I'd have to grow it out and cut it off to get MY hair back. I thought about those things AFTER I bought the color and now it's just under my sink. I'm glad I didn't do it. Heck, you can use a crimper one day and look like a lioness for something different, anything that washes out!

I agree with doing it professionally and then use the box for the upkeep. Do what feels right to you! You look beautiful no matter your hair color. I was blond for awhile and when the upkeep got too much, I dyed it back as close to my natural color as possible, I didn't have to cut it off and you couldn't tell while it was growing out. Now I have to color my hair (my "natural" color) due to gray! Work it while you can!!

I'm in for professional too. Being a person who has colored her hair since age 12 and had both home color and professional color, it is always worth the money to get a professional color.

I say for the first time ya gotta go professional! That way if it doesn't turn out you can be mad at her and not yourself! But red would look great on you...maybe as higlights instead of going all red at once would be a little less shocking....I'm sure whatever you do it'll be good. Make sure to post so we can see the results.

Since you want to a red color, I would go professional. Like BrieAnn said it's temperamental- and can be purplish sometimes. Red is also a hair color that fades quickly make sure there is a brown base to the color you choose that helps it stay longer! Good luck, will look super cute! And even if you don't love it, it will grow out right?

Live dangerously. It is just hair it will grow out if you don't like it, but I would definately go professional. The stylest will know what color will work best with your skin color.
