Crossing The Country in 3 Days

We left Salt Lake City in the morning of June 14th. We had all 11 of us: Dustin, Me, Ryan, Aaron, Angel, Grace, Kate, Rebecca, Britten, Grandpa Russ, and Grandma Lori. We made our way to the Wyoming boarder. We would contiune to cross in to Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, ohio, a sliver of Pennsylvania, and then reach New York.
We dropped Grandpa and Grandma off at a hotel each night after driving 10-12 hours. Then we would find a Wal Mart parking lot and call it home for the night. We would then wake up, shower, get ready, and then head to get Grandma and Gandpa. We would eat breakfast and then be off.
During the drive, we would play games. Grandma packed a box of activities that corresponded with state we were in. It would always be some small trivia about the state then would do an activity that tied in. We made bracelets, performed our own magic tricks, created our own animals, had a bubble blowing contest, did RV surfing. Really, anything to pass the long hours.
For lunchtime and dinner, we would cook while traveling down the road at 80 mph. Thanks goodness for the Instapot!! Saved us lots dishes!
We would get out to stretch. We did find a nice rest stop at the Illinois and Indiana border. It was so green! The air smelled like water. Something we are not used to in the desert.
I loved Iowa. So many farmhouses and clear, blue skies. The clouds were amazing! It was fun to drive and witness nature from the window. What an adventure!!!
