Channel 20's Reply

I got an e-mail in response to my letter. I was a little let down by it. They just simply told me they would be addressing some of my concerns in next weeks show. Hmmm... sounds like a ploy to get me to watch another show! They said what they don't address, they will follow up with another e-mail.

So, what do you think I should do? Should I tune in next week, or just let it go? Chances are they will never understand my point of view. You never know though. I'm a little curious.

I think that you should just leave it alone....
About a year ago I came across an anti-mormon blog that a lady who had been through the temple was exposing everything! It made me sick inside and I called my mom in tears! She basically told me that the Lord will deal with these people in His own way and time - for He will not be mocked!
I think you have done the right this so far and
I know that we have the resposibility but we can only do so much. I think that our real responsibility is to progress ourselves spiritually and to help our children gain their testimonies so that we can all resist the temptations in this world. I think that that is the best armor that we can put on!

I have to disagree with Taryn, Sorry. ;)But that is exactly what Satan wants us to do...back down. In the book you gave me by Sherry Dew she has this quote that I love. It says, "We made not be the first generation of sisters to be influenced by the world, but we need to be the last. We've just got to be the last. It is high time for us to arise and have the influence God intended us to have. It is high time for us to model the distinctuveness and happiness that set true followers of Jesus Christ apart." Sorry, I know that is long, but it gets right to the point. If you don't inform this woman, then who will? I want to have the courage that you have and stand up when I hear things that aren't right. I'm tired of hearing that people will get affended if we talk about the church or stand up for what we believe. Because honestly I would rather affend a person than God. Good Job Larae!

Now that our computer is up and running, I'll fill you in on our latest happenings. Not in one post of course. I'll have lots to say for a while. Our biggest news is that Dustin has officially started the police academy . We are adjusting. The kids are taking it the worst, but I'm not fairing very well either. He is gone all day Mon- Thurs., and all day Sat. The kids are sad that he is gone so much and constantly ask where he is. It has been something I have continually worked on all my life. When I was young and lived Missouri, I was the only member of my Faith. My family was the only members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the whole school. There were a couple of friends who were members of the RLDS (now known as The Community of Christ). I felt a connection with them because at least our religions stemmed from the same founding. Yet, it still was different. I knew this after having conversations with them. And, even though I was the only member of my Faith, I still had great friends who practiced other religions, or none at all. A New Chapter In Motherhood

Every now and then I get all sentimental while looking at my kids. Today was one of those days. What sparked it? My 16 year-old walking into the door of his new place of employment! I can't believe one of my kids is old enough to work. Well, old enough to work and get paid by someone other than me.  I'll tell you it was a little like sending him off to his first day of school. I was worried  he'd be nervous. I was worried his boss might be mean. I was worried about what type of people he would be working with. Would they be nice to him? It all seems so silly. He's sixteen, not six! But I'm a mom. Mom's are like that sometimes. I asked Ryan how it was when I picked him up- he's working to save money to drive. He really likes it. He worked the grill and firer. He was burned a couple of times. He said he was slow at first, but by the end of the night had found his groove. I'm glad he enjoys working. I'm glad he's building a good work ethic....
