A four year-old, a pen, and 1 distracted mother...

Last night I was a little occupied -I was blog surfing. It was late, so I tuned off the computer and went to get ready for bed. Becca was still up due to a late nap. I looked at her and she had a few pen markings on her. I ignored it and put her to bed. I next scooped up Kate and noticed she had more than a few pen markings all over her. She was asleep, so I decided to talk to her about it in the morning.

This morning she explained, "Mom I made me some friends! I needed some friends."

"Well, what about your sister?" I asked.

"Oh, well she needed some too," she said as a matter of fact.

I thought,"Well I guess we're wearing pants today. Good thing it's cool today."

As I washed her friends away, Kate said,"Oh, good. They were being mean." She makes me laugh.

These crazy girls. I never know what will happen with them! Here are some pics of their "friends." Sorry for the immodest shots. You wouldn't be able to see them if they had their pants on.

How cute are they! I love how innocent kids are. I'm glad you got pictures and documented the story so you can share it with them when their kids do something similar :)

Wendy and I are sitting here reading blogs and we couldn't help but laugh out loud at this little story! I thought you were leading up to writing on the walls, good thing it wasn't that!

Yeah, i just figured out how to do collages. You have to upload some free software. Go to http://www.photoscape.org/ps/main/download.php After you load the program you click on the page tab and there are a whole bunch of templates that you can choose. Then you just drag your photos onto them and can size them however ya want. It's pretty cool. Let me know if you get stuck and need any help.

Now that our computer is up and running, I'll fill you in on our latest happenings. Not in one post of course. I'll have lots to say for a while. Our biggest news is that Dustin has officially started the police academy . We are adjusting. The kids are taking it the worst, but I'm not fairing very well either. He is gone all day Mon- Thurs., and all day Sat. The kids are sad that he is gone so much and constantly ask where he is. It has been something I have continually worked on all my life. When I was young and lived Missouri, I was the only member of my Faith. My family was the only members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the whole school. There were a couple of friends who were members of the RLDS (now known as The Community of Christ). I felt a connection with them because at least our religions stemmed from the same founding. Yet, it still was different. I knew this after having conversations with them. And, even though I was the only member of my Faith, I still had great friends who practiced other religions, or none at all. A New Chapter In Motherhood

Every now and then I get all sentimental while looking at my kids. Today was one of those days. What sparked it? My 16 year-old walking into the door of his new place of employment! I can't believe one of my kids is old enough to work. Well, old enough to work and get paid by someone other than me.  I'll tell you it was a little like sending him off to his first day of school. I was worried  he'd be nervous. I was worried his boss might be mean. I was worried about what type of people he would be working with. Would they be nice to him? It all seems so silly. He's sixteen, not six! But I'm a mom. Mom's are like that sometimes. I asked Ryan how it was when I picked him up- he's working to save money to drive. He really likes it. He worked the grill and firer. He was burned a couple of times. He said he was slow at first, but by the end of the night had found his groove. I'm glad he enjoys working. I'm glad he's building a good work ethic....
